Living with Type-1 Diabetes Doesn’t Have to Hold You Back
Alexandra had a great experience running the Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon in Vancouver. “There is nothing more rewarding than seeing your hard work and dedication pay off,” says Alexandra. Her sessions with Ben and Catalyst Kinetics Group played a huge role in helping her achieve a goal. She adds, “Thanks to the information from Ben and Catalyst, I am pleased to say that living with type-1 Diabetes hasn't held me back from pursuing my passion for long distance running.”
Alexandra’s sessions took place both on and off the treadmill. She really enjoyed learning about the biological aspects of exercise and fitness. This education gave her a deeper understanding of her body and how to optimize her training for it. Ben Reid of Catalyst educated Alexandra on how to structure her runs and the different training paces. He also provided insight on her blood sugar levels and how to manage glucose during these different types of runs.
The facilities at Catalyst are high-tech, the environment is inviting, and the people are educated and friendly. “A big thanks to Ben and Catalyst for helping me reach a goal of running my first of many marathons,” says Alexandra.
